Aditya Yadav

Quantum Photonics & Elastodynamics Researcher • Asteroid Astrometrist • Rural Water-Safety Innovator

I grew up in Taroni, a village of a thousand people in Panna district, Madhya Pradesh, where power cuts arrive every evening and my mother holds a bucket of hand-pump water to the sun to check if it looks clean enough to drink. With a single laptop and free papers online, I built computational models for multi-photon quantum state routing, chaotic elastodynamic energy harvesters, near-Earth asteroid orbital determination, and low-cost rural water testing.

Origins & Perspective

From a Cardboard Solar Cooker to Four-Site Photonic Chains

Three moments from Taroni village and Panna district explain how I pick problems, why I work with dry-lab simulations, and why every technical model has to reach real people.

01 • The Torch & The Dish Grade 5 to Aug 2023

Making Things Work During Village Power Cuts

In fifth grade, power cuts hit our village every evening. After reading my science textbook, I took old wires, a dry cell, an LED, and cardboard, and used charger pins as a switch to build a torch. My mother used that torch every night. Later I built a periscope from broken mirrors and carried a cardboard-and-foil solar cooker to my seventh-grade science fair.

At night on my father's phone, I looked up national science fair winners and saw IIT labs and components worth thousands of dollars, while my father Ramakant Yadav counted my school fees in folded notes. In August 2023, our whole street crowded around one television as Chandrayaan-3 touched down near the moon's south pole on half of Interstellar's budget. Prahlad Uncle shouted, "We did it!" That year I read the science fair notice to the end.

02 • The Hand Pump & The Draft 2024 to 2026

Holding a Bucket to the Sun in 45°C Heat

Every morning in my village starts with a hand pump and buckets. My mother Pramod Yadav fills each bucket and squints at the tea-colored water against the sun. I used the Beer-Lambert law to simulate optical absorption for arsenic, nitrate, and phosphate, and trained a Conditional GAN. When the model stalled for lack of real laboratory spectra, an email asking for help sat in my drafts for four days.

I clicked send and posted in the World Science Scholars Discord. Amairah from Delhi replied because her brother had fallen ill from tap water. We traded a spot on my Conrad Challenge team for 300 real spectrophotometer readings collected with her father, reaching 72% accuracy across three contaminants. With a $2,000 grant from our district MLA, we brought gravity water filters to 68+ households and ran workshops for 3,000+ villagers across three villages.

03 • The Dairy Shop & The Bench 2022 to Present

Two Hours at the Counter and Sunday Tutoring

Every day from 2023 to 2025, I ran my parents' dairy shop for two hours while they fed and tended the cattle. The cattle needed feeding on schedule whether or not I had a physics deadline, and keeping the counter open taught me how to plan long stretches of research around real responsibilities.

When I was rejected from UWC myself, I took everything I had learned and coached Mayak Singh, a student from a background like mine, through his UWC interview until he was admitted to UWC Mahindra. When I tutored ninth-grader Ritik after he failed physics, I held his red-inked exam paper up the way my mother holds her bucket to the sun, looking for the clean step. "We'll fix the rest next week?" he asked. I kept the pronoun.

Adaptive Time-Reversal Symmetry Breaking for Robust Multi-Photon Quantum State Routing

Mentored by Prof. Michael Dubson (CU Boulder) • IRIS National Fair 2026 Gold Award (1 of 20 in India)

Formulated a 4-site open Bose-Hubbard photonic chain (Hilbert dimension 81, decay κ = 0.02) with 6-segment piecewise-constant Peierls phases φ(t) optimized via CMA-ES. Boosted two-photon routing fidelity from 0.306 (static baseline) to 0.705 (103x gain in high-loss κ = 0.05 regime; transient peak 0.846 at t = 2.8).
